Caroline Lai and Maria Gorlatova participated in the 2013 MIT Rising Stars in EECS Workshop
Former WiMNet Postdoctoral Researcher Dr. Caroline Lai (co-advised with
Prof. Keren Bergman) and current WiMNet Postdoctoral Researcher Dr. Maria Gorlatova were among the 40 female graduate students and postdoctoral scholars invited to participate in the 2013 MIT Rising Stars in EECS, the annual workshop that brings together top women in EECS for two days of scientific discussions and informal sessions aimed at navigating the early stages of the academic career.
During the workshop, held in MIT in early November 2013, Dr. Caroline Lai, who is currently a postdoctoral scholar with the Photonic Systems Group at Tyndall National Institute, gave a talk titled “Energy-Efficient Colorless Photonic Technologies for Next-Generation Wavelength-Division-Multiplexed Metro and Access Networks”. Dr. Maria Gorlatova presented a poster titled “Energy Harvesting Active Networked Tags (EnHANTs) for Ubiquitous Object Networking”.
