WiMNet lab AURORA project featured as a DOE EERE success story
The AURORA project (led by Siemens) in which the WiMNet lab took part was featured in a success story of the Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. The project focused on developing a three-layer energy management system for microgrids that helps secure both microgrids and the larger electric grid against physical threats and cyberattacks. Along with project partners from Siemens, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and Holy Cross Energy, the team built a testbed connecting multiple microgrids to validate the microgrid control and integration technology with commercial energy management systems.
Major contributions have been made by WiMNet lab former postdocs Dr. Jip Kim and Dr. Jonathan Ostrometzky as well as collaborators Prof. James Anderson and Yiqian Wu.
