Alumna Prof. Maria Gorlatova Selected as Rising Star in Networking and Communications

KohliWiMNet Lab Alumna Maria Gorlatova was selected by N2 Women as one of ten Rising Stars in Networking and Communications.

N2 Women is a community for researchers in the communications and networking research fields whose main goal is to foster connections among the under-represented women in computer networking and related research fields. Women from all over the world are nominated and each have had an impact in the Networking and Communications field.

“I am grateful to N2 Women for this recognition, and would like to thank my Columbia EE mentors for their guidance and continuing support,” Gorlatova said.

Gorlatova is currently an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University. Her team works, broadly, on developing architectures, algorithms, and protocols for pervasive technologies of the future. Her current research is focused on enabling the next level of intelligence and adaptability in the Internet of Things with fog/edge computing, and on making augmented reality intelligent and pervasive.
