Along Levin Alon S. Levin, a WiMNet Lab PhD student, received the 2022 National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship  in recognition of his academic excellence and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) achievements. The NDSEG Fellowship Program received over 3142 applications this year. It supports students who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude for advancing science and engineering disciplines of military importance, and is sponsored by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), the Army Research Office (ARO), and the Office of Naval Research (ONR) under the Office of the Under Secretary for Research and Engineering.

Alon received his B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering (magna cum laude) in 2020 and a M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering in 2021, both from The Cooper Union, where he was the recipient of the Cooper Union Innovator Merit Scholarship and the Radio Club of America Scholarship Award, as well membership in the Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu engineering honor societies. He recently received the Byron Fellowship from Columbia Engineering.  His current research is in full-duplex wireless systems, as part of the FlexICoN project; more broadly, his research interests lie in wireless communications, compressed sensing, PHY layer algorithms, cognitive radio, and network security.
